I created the first grip plate as a way to tell two identical AR-15 rifles apart. I didn't want to put any part of a brand new gun at risk, so I came up with what you see here. I was very pleased with the result. The owner of the other rifle wanted one after seeing it. I decided to see what the rest of the world thinks so gripplates.com was born.

The project is a culmination of my experience as an engraver and an appreciation of U.S. military weaponry. I've been a full time professional engraver all of my adult life and a good bit of my childhood. I'm sure my involvement in many forms of racing has had an influence as well.

The grip plates for the AR-15 are the cornerstone of this website. We also plan on adding related product as the site progresses.
